After retiring from international competition, former Test captain Azhar Ali received congratulations from Pakistan's wicketkeeper and batter Sarfaraz Ahmed.

On Twitter, Sarfaraz praised Azhar for his impressive career and sent him his best wishes for the next stage.

"Bhayya mere Congratulations on a successful career. Playing with you was a complete joy. You consistently demonstrated that you were a face Pakistan could count on in trying times, Sarfaraz tweeted on the microblogging website.

"My best wishes for your upcoming life chapters. Up and moving forward," he continued.

It is important to note that Azhar declared his retirement from Test cricket prior to the Karachi Test. His farewell Test, however, ended in a dismal fashion.
